Kids Need to Read

I'm sure some people recognize this book. "Brown Boy Dreams" by Clamentia Hall Jr. Posted a review a while back. My daughter picked it for bedtime last night. Oftentimes, after we read her a book, our toddler flips through and makes up her own stories based on the illustrations. Some, she memorizes word for word, like "The Going to Bed Book" by Sandra Boynton, and some she remembers the ending rhymes of a stanza like "Twinkle, Twinkle Great, Big Star" by... Me 😊😆

Parents, you may or may not know this, but when a toddler is making up their OWN stories based on illustrations, this is a sign of great inferring skills, a high interest in books at an early age, a future #bookworm & #storyteller & #performer and a sign of a future leader.

Surround your children with a VARIETY of books, especially entertaining ones. If tapping away on your phone like I am right now, cover it with a book 😆📱📖. Let them at least SEE you holding a book 😆😆 Kids need to read. Books allow children to always have a tool to empower and educate THEMSELVES.

Books allow children to explore different worlds in the comfort of their reading nooks and imaginations.

Bye. 👋🏽
