This is Evil That is Evil Blah Blah Blah

You know, I've seen it time and time again. Copious amounts of videos about the demonic and dark presence in children's books, YouTube channels, movies, etc.. and how it is affecting their behavior and how kids are being possessed. Cocomelon and Encanto were some of those recently mentioned. I've seen it on my timeline-- grandparents and millennial parents mentioning how they don't let their kids participate in Halloween festivities because it is the devil's holiday. "Who told you that?!" In my best King Jaffe Joffer voice.
Ahem!
People do not allow their children to participate in Halloween, but have no qualms about letting them participate in Christmas activities---both deriving from pagan traditions. Look up the history and activities surrounding both holidays and you will discover that Christmas was actually a worse holiday than Halloween with lots of "adult activity".
The meaning and how you/we celebrate holidays change over time, indeed. Christians didn't know when their lord and saviour's birthday was so they decided to celebrate it on December 25. December 25 was originally the day Romans celebrated their agriculture god, Mithra and had "drunken and wild parties".

So before you throw shade at parents who choose to allow their children to participate in Halloween festivities this year, label it evil or say they are exposing their kids to an evil spirit, try to remember that if you can change the origin of Christmas and the reason you celebrate Christmas then so can parents who allow their children to create fun memories and dress up on Halloween.💃🏾🕺🏾🤴🏾👼🏾👸🏾Also, let's not forget that we millennial parents were children once, LOL!
Yes, even Miss Trunchbull was a child once, too. Even though she claims she "never was one".

Our generation was exposed to some of the most disgusting, perverted and scary horror films ever to be created. Did those films cause us to become possessed? Did you feel a spirit come upon you while watching those films with your peers? Did watching horror films (that we had no business watching... I will admit😆😆😆) like "Candy Man", "Chucky" to "Jason" to "Freddy Kruger" to "Scream 1", "Poltergeist", "Exorcist", heck, even "Goosebumps", make us go around acting out of character? Did we become aggressive and violent after watching those films? ? ? In my opinion and experience, no. Did I have nightmares after watching some of those scary movies... after 11pm... while eating junk food? Absolutely😆. Was it because of a demonic presence influencing my sleep or trying to take over my mind? Nope. Was it because of my overactive imagination and subconscious expanding the possibilities of what I just watched for over an hour with no breaks? Ding! Ding! Ding! Absolutely.
Everything in moderation. Everything involving parenting requires a practical, rational, educational and sensible approach. Govern your home accordingly, but stop labeling everything evil without context. 'Because you said sos' will only take you so far. Kids will want answers as to how and why something is evil or bad. Be ready to explain. Be ready to have an open discussion. Have your proof ready to go. If your children are around other children from different backgrounds and cultures, more than likely they WILL learn about certain things through other people and in turn disagree with your opinion and beliefs.
🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩If you are forbidding your kids from participating in Halloween festivities this year because of the [harmless] history behind it, Christmas should be cancelled even more so because of the [not so kid-friendly and somewhat harmful] history behind it.
Y'all buggin'. Shoo, fly.😆
