Bonnets on Bonnets on Bonnets! Ayyyee!
š¤š§šWhat's up, Doc?
Are we going to be unapologetic or are we going to be unapologetic?
Sisters and brothers among the elitists and classists in our communities and those who do not understand why this "just say no to bonnets" campaign is ridiculous: There is definitely a time and place for e v e r y t h i n g.
Was this a job interview? A fancy date? A fancy restaurant? A school function? A night out with friends? Nope. What was the place, you might ask? A dentist's officeš¤¦š¾āāļøš¤·š¾āāļø. As long as people have showered and are fully clothed, it shouldn't be a problem. Let women and girls wear their bonnets. Bonnets, cute pjs, yoga pants, jogging pants and a tee shouldn't be a big deal for a dental appointment. Comfort should be the number 1 priority for this type of appointment. People are literally there to get their TEETH checked and cleaned.
Some may come in for a routine check-up and discover at the appointment that they may need general anesthesia or need a dose of that nitrous oxide, ahhhhš¤Ŗ. But yay! Now look at you. All well-dressed with blood and saliva on your shoulder and a swollen jaw, asking people if water is wet and needing assistance to your car because of the drugs and what not.šš¤·š¾āāļø
Fam, who taught you that bonnets equal the ghetto? Who taught you that women wearing a bonnet reads "welfare queen"? Dirty? Uneducated? Unworthy? Who told you that because a person is wearing a bonnet or pjs out in public they have no self-respect and deserve to be disrespected? Have a conversation to determine a person's character. Even then, you could still be wrong.
Aren't bonnets a protective style too? Especially for the natural fro wearing sistahs who rarely if ever protect their hair with weaves and wigs?
Life happens and bonnets are convenient š They are not the every-day-every-errand go to, but when time is not on your side "just say YES to bonnets!" Serve your people with bonnets or pjs, Doc. But it is your establishment and your rules. Still, there is a time and place for everything, that includes bonnets... @therealmoworldwide
